GENERAL
Ron Butler is an L.A. based actor, working in film, television, commercials, and musical theater.
He’s also an improv performer and writes comic sketches and song parodies. This group of gifts,
and his passion for politics, makes him a first rate choice for impersonating a political figure like
Barack Obama. Along those lines, he has appeared “as” Sen. Obama on national television, and at
everything from trade shows to celebrity events.
Like Obama, he is a mixture of races and cultures. Mr. Butler is the son of the most famous
recording artist of the Bahamas, and his mother is from upstate NY farm country. He has lived in
the Bahamas, Chicago, Washington D.C., New York City, and currently lives in L.A. He is a
member of the prestigious Atlantic Theater Company. He has a great respect for Sen. Obama and
hopes to meet him one day.

• At a casting workshop last year, two women turned around to me and said, “Have you ever
thought of impersonating Barack Obama? You look like him – you’ve got have his essence.
You should send your picture to the casting director of Jimmy Kimmel Live”. I followed their
advice. One month later I was on national television as Barack Obama.
• Walking down Hollywood Blvd. in a business suit last spring, I was stopped several times by
tourists and asked to pose for pictures with them. “We want a picture with Obama!” they
said. (Sen. Obama happened to be in L.A. that week for a fundraiser.)
• “Ron Butler’s Barack is the real deal. And the campaign song parody – genius!” JL,

• “I thought it was so cool that Obama would be on my favorite show -- but then I realized it

ask if I’ve ever been told that I look like him.
